Norway cancels foreign debts
October 2, 2006Norway is cancelling the debts of seven countries that borrowed heavily during a Norwegian ship export campaign in the 1970s. All told, it amounts to two-thirds of the foreign debt owed Norway.

Warmest September on record

Three sisters shot and killed

Trade minister bows out
September 30, 2006Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg appointed a new Minister of Trade and Industry for his cabinet on Friday, after saying that Odd Eriksen wanted to resign after a year in the job. Longtime Labour politician Dag Terje Andersen will take his place.
More taxi drivers under suspicion
